Alright, this conversation has gone completely off track, especially the part contributed by lolwhut a couple of posts back, who seems to me to be a bit mental.
The whole point, as far as i'm concerned, is that some dude "shikamaruismyhomeboy" wanted to point out how he felt about the idiotic people who debate whether or not Sasuke is gay, and insult each other's intelligence, which by the way is fine. But then he went so far as to attempt to show off his linguistic skills by jamming as many big words as he possibly could into one paragraph, in a way that no one actually ever would when using the English language, in an attempt to prove that he is better than everyone else. Basically, he is an arrogant git who thinks he is good, and ends up showing that he is as much of an idiot as the people he was trying to put down. Just a different type of idiot.
And can people stop referring to the whole thesaurus thing because it doesn't matter at all. What matters is his intent, which was to make himself look good by using words he thought put him above others, but in reality made him look just as stupid. additionally, if you are going to use "big words" try to do so above a grade 6 level. 'otherwise' and 'essential' are not particularly impressive pieces of vocabulary.
I would say that this episode seemed superfluous in the face of previous installments which imparted much of the same information at an earlier juncture. It's placement in the continuity of the Uzumaki-Uchia battle is rather discomfiting due to the aforementioned lack of battle, given the pace of other story lines we have been privy to.
In other words - we know most of this crap already, just show us the shit we don't know then get to the action instead of reusing animation to fill time.

I think this episode was important because it shows alot about sasuke and WHY he wants to leave the Leaf village and go to orochimaru. His dad was always going on about how good Itachi was and never recognized Sasuke untill Itachi turned bad >_>
And I think Itachi let Sasuke live because he realy liked Sasuke. ^_^ He liked how Sasuke was determined to be as good as him.

I completely agree! This episode is extremely important. It underlines what started Sasuke's need to gain power. If you idiots only watch the show for the violence, and can't understand episodes such as this, well I'd say that's what too much TV and violent video games are making of our world, and if you took the time to understand the point of episodes like this, you might not get average grades and minimum wage jobs. I think this episode was important because it shows alot about sasuke and WHY he wants to leave the Leaf village and go to orochimaru. His dad was always going on about how good Itachi was and never recognized Sasuke untill Itachi turned bad >_>
And I think Itachi let Sasuke live because he realy liked Sasuke. ^_^ He liked how Sasuke was determined to be as good as him.
this is the 2nd time i'm looking at the episodes and if you look at the coming episodes you'll notice that you need some information about the charachters to understand the story(mainly in the shippuuden episodes)
I completely agree! This episode is extremely important. It underlines what started Sasuke's need to gain power. If you idiots only watch the show for the violence, and can't understand episodes such as this, well I'd say that's what too much TV and violent video games are making of our world, and if you took the time to understand the point of episodes like this, you might not get average grades and minimum wage jobs. Beleive it!

eps like this r essesential (ooh a big word sorry to some people) because they tell us more about y the charaters r the way they r because otherwise (oops another long word) you wudnt know anything about the characters apart from what it tells u thruogh fights
